After Maame graduated and returned home, she felt a growing desire to become more involved in her church. Around the same time, Kenyatta, who was still fairly new to the church, was already making his mark. Passionate about mentorship, he had started an organization called The Boys and Girls Brigade to support and guide young boys and girls.

Week after week, announcements were made calling for volunteers and officers. Maame, who would normally shy away from stepping forward, felt an unexpected pull she couldn’t quite explain. On August 20, 2023, after Sunday service, she decided to simply ask about it and that one small decision would change everything.

She was directed to Kenyatta. Walking up to him, she asked, “Are you the Brigade Master?”

With a slight smirk, he replied, “No… I’m the Brigade Officer, not the Master.”

And just like that, their story began.

Maame shared her interest in learning more, and Kenyatta clearly not wanting to miss this opportunity asked for her number. What started as simple conversations about Brigade quickly turned into daily texts, long phone calls, and an easy connection neither of them expected.

On September 1, 2023, they went on their first date at Autobahn and somewhere between the laughter and friendly competition, Kenyatta quietly realized Maame was the one. Maame,on the other hand, may or may not admit she was already thinking the same.

From that moment on, their bond only grew stronger. What began as a shared interest turned into a deep friendship, filled with laughter, support, faith, and love. Through every season, they learned each other’s hearts and built a foundation rooted in trust, patience, and purpose.

Surrounded by the love and blessings of family and friends, the couple has since celebrated their beautiful traditional marriage, marking not just a union of two people, but the joining of two lives, two families, and one shared future.

And now, with full hearts and unwavering faith, they continue their journey together, hand in hand, trusting God as the author of their love story, and excited for all that is still to come.
